Following skateboarding since he was a wee lad, Brian brings 20 years of skateboarding experience and seven years of industry knowledge with him.

Perry Ellis Buys Gotcha International Trademarks

Perry Ellis International, Inc. (PERY) announced today that it has signed a definitive asset purchase agreement to acquire primarily all of the worldwide intellectual property, including the Gotcha(R) and GirlStar(R) trademarks and the intellectual property license agreements, of the leading California lifestyle company Gotcha International. The cash transaction is expected to close in January 2006, subject to satisfation of closing conditions set forth in the asset purchase agreement.

Gotcha is an internationally recognized surf wear brand produced through a global network of licensees. Gotcha is sold through surf, specialty and department stores in 20 countries across five continents.

ASR Announces New Holiday Show

The importance of the 4th quarter, holiday season in the action sports industry continues to grow. In response to the explosion of holiday buying in surf, skate, snow and youth culture, ASR is launching a trade show specifically for the holiday buying season. ASR Holiday debuts this May 31 – June 1, 2006 at the Newport Dunes in Newport Beach, CA.

Flow Hires New Art Director, Designer

Flow, the San Clemente based manufacturer distributor of snowboard bindings, boots, and boards has gone through a complete restructure of their once slim design department. The move from San Francisco to San Clemente brought about a larger office, an attached warehouse, and the need for more personnel to accomadate the needs of the growing brand. The addition of Dan Watts as Art Director and Troy Doney as Senior Graphic Designer, brings two heavy hitters to the Flow Team, and has brought the creative direction of the brand back to the fold. Projects that were previously outsourced such as ad design, photography and softgood design will now be done in-house.

CSCUSA Hires New Marketing Director

Colorado Ski Country USA (CSCUSA) announced today that John J. Urdi III will be joining the team as Director of Marketing. Urdi will be responsible for all domestic marketing, sales and promotional efforts for CSCUSA. Urdi will begin his new role at CSCUSA on November 28, 2005.

Scott USA Hires New Wintersport Midwest Rep

SCOTT wintersport announces Arden Balkema as its Midwest sales representative for softgoods. Balkema is charged with selling clothing, gloves, hats and the newest addition to the Scott line, socks. Balkema will cover the following states; Arkansas, North and South Dakota, Minnesota, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.

Big Bear Appoints New Industry/PR Director

Important changes are underway at Big Bear Mountain Resorts. Marty Ward has been hired as the new Industry and Public Relations Director, and will be based at Bear Mountain.

“We interviewed many talented individuals and were impressed with Marty’s experience in the Southern California market, as well as his positive energy, creative ideas and work ethic,” stated Kim Hermon, Asst. Director of Marketing for BBMR. “Marty is an excellent complement to the Big Bear Mountain Resorts marketing department,” added Hermon.
